There are a lot of Park Yuchun fans in Thessaloniki, and the drama is expected to be well-received with him starring as the leading role.

Many representatives expressed, “Depending on the power of Park Yuchun’s international fans, ‘Missing You’ completely sold its copyright in Asian regions. In additional to that and in Greece altogether, excluding Europe, underway is exporting throughout the world using an American dubbed version and so on”. Greece was an unproductive place for the Korean Wave previously, but the “Missing You”‘s broadcast is considered as an exception. It can be deemed to Park Yuchun’s high popularity greatly being in effect in Europe.

Yoochun and Yoon Eun Hye’s “I Miss You” Currently Airing in Greece

According to the Greek embassy on September 7, the 2012 MBC drama “I Miss You,” which JYJ‘s Yoochun and actress Yoon Eun Hye starred in, started airing September 4 on Thessaloniki’s regional channel TV100.

TV100 is airing one episode of “I Miss You” every Wednesday and Friday at 10PM and then re-airing two episodes back-to-back on Sunday at 2PM. Thessaloniki is the second-largest city in Greece and TV100 reaches the homes of two million people around the region.

A source from the field stated, “It seems this drama is gathering popularity because there are a lot of fans of JYJ in Thessaloniki.” A counselor of the Korean embassy in Greece Kim Byeong Yeon stated, “This is the result of Hallyu fanclubs, Korean companies, Korean networks, and Greece networks working together since the latter half of last year to bring Korean dramas to Greek television.”

Greece is not one of the countries that is generally considered when talking about Hallyu so the broadcast of the Korean drama “I Miss You” marks a significant event in Hallyu history. Pretty cool!
